Minor in Nonprofit Studies

The Center for Leadership and Community Engagement offers a minor in nonprofit studies for students who want a career dedicated to making a positive difference in the community and the world.  Courses reflect the values of Mason – integration of experiential and classroom learning; a strong sense of community among learners through active, discussion-based classrooms; frequent guest speakers from the field; and personal attention from faculty.  The core courses each include one credit of experiential learning, which engage students on-site with some of the most effective nonprofit organizations in the region.  Some of the course offerings within this program include: Human Rights; Poverty, Wealth, and Inequality; Animal Rights and Animal Exploitation; and Environmental Justice.
